Opening Session:  Welcome, Program Overview, and Opening Keynote

Welcome:  Dr. Greg Dern and Sara Novak

Opening Keynote:  Leading Innovation Through Collaborative LeadershipDr. Kerri Cissna

This session brings us to the awareness of our need for leadership development in education that focuses on creative innovations achieved through inclusive and collaborative leadership.

While the landscape of instruction, learning, and preparedness for a 21st century economy has changed because of rapid advances in technology and globalization, emerging personal, social, and economic environments are churning through cycles of unprecedented challenges defined by volatility, uncertainty, chaos, and ambiguity (VUCA) in the race to identify what the future will look like.

In response to VUCA environments, educational leaders who are leading the way with novel problem solving and entrepreneurial strategizing will be equipped to align their community’s goals with the values, which recognize, support and promote inclusive and collaborative leadership.  These are the leaders who clarify understandings about the currency and virtue of creativity to define the future before its defined for them.
